Andrew Wilson kindly drops a line to let us know about the final meeting of the Edinburgh SF writers, scribes and general pen scratchers for 2005:
You are cordially invited to join us at the Canon’s Gait basement on Thursday 15th December to witness a Mexican standoff of mythic proportions as Glaswegian literary gladiators prepare to do battle with our own Writers’ Bloc in their second annual word-off.
Veterans and newcomers will battle it out to bewitch you with a mix of fluid prose and venal humour.
Among other accomplishments, many of the contenders have been published in Williamson and Wilson’s Nova Scotia. Watch these erstwhile northern brothers-in-arms turn on each other in an effort to score the most metaphors.
More Dodgeball than Spelling Bee,
this is definitely not for the fainthearted.
Canon’s Gait Basement 8pm til late Thursday 15th December entry fee £2 (£1 concessions)
Aim low this December and Grab Life by the Word.
