Books, Film, TV and radio

Top Scottish SF author, supporter of the nation’s single malt distilleries and noted man of letters, Iain M Banks kindly drops us a line to let us know that he will be making not one but two seperate appearances on the BBC very early in the New Year (no, he’s not going to be the next Doctor Who after David Tennant).

On the very start of the New Year Iain will be on Universally Challenged… Sorry, University Challenge on January 1st at 8.30pm, with a final at the same time on the following evening. Also the following evening (2nd Jan for those with Hogmanay Hangovers) will be Oor Iain’s performance on Mastermind, with his specialist subject being one of the finest inventions known to humanity, single malt whisky. Does the ‘M’ in Iain’s name stand for Mastermind or Malt? Tune in and find out!
