The next meeting of the Edinburgh SF Book Group will take place in Henderson’s on Hanover Street on Tuesday 31st of January 2006. Following on from this month’s discussion of Jeff VanderMeer’s City of Saints and Madmen (which Jeff kindly contributed some observations on to enhance the discussion) the group is sticking with another contemporary writer in the shape of David Mitchell’s Booker-nominated Cloud Atlas, an interlocking number of related tales which Cheryl over on Emerald City compared to a series of Russian Dolls. From that meeting onwards the group plans to move to a fixed time of month for meets – they should follow on the last Tuesday of each month from January onwards; as ever all are welcome to come along and join in.
