New Line has optioned Tony Harris and Brian K. Vaughan’s Ex Machina series for a possible film. While a huge number of books and comic series get optioned regularly this does not always translate into an actual movie being made (couple of years down the line and we’re still waiting for production on Richard Morgan’s debut novel Altered Carbon – there have been script drafts but no movie yet).
So, don’t get too excited just yet – although the fact that the excellent Vaughan is given the chance to work on a screenplay (while another writer attempts a different draft) is encouraging. As ever, more when we hear it.
