Matt Camp, our star editor of the FPI magazine has sent in a tantalising little glimpse of some of the goodies you can expect in the third issue, which is due out in January:

Issue three is to be rather special thanks to a very rare and exclusive interview with the action figure giant Todd McFarlane. Speaking exclusively to FPI, Todd reveals some of the secrets behind the McFarlane company and shares some tips on how to break into the action figure industry. This four-page special is accompanied by what is sure to become a collector’s item – an exclusive new Spawn artwork, designed especially by the McFarlane artists for the front cover of FPI.

The modelling theme continues with another exclusive – an interview with Randy Bowen, the genius behind some of the best-loved superhero statues and busts.

Elsewhere within FPI we have special reports on Doctor Who, Xena, Babylon 5, TV soundtrack albums, an interview with LucasArts and a [retro]spective on the most expensive videogame ever made – Shenmue. All this, plus regulars from the FPI Library, FX And The City and so much more.

“For many FPI readers and shoppers – action figures, statues and busts are what really floats their boats,” explained editor Matt. “So for issue 3 we decided to go all out and secure a very rare interview with one of the biggest players – Todd McFarlane. His offer to supply FPI and its readers with an exclusive new Spawn artwork for the issue’s front cover was just the icing on an already tasty cake.”

“What Todd and statue artist Randy Bowen have to say makes for fascinating reading, and offers a great insight into an often hidden world, where usually we only get to see products on shelves and not the work that actually went into them.

“Issue 3 of FPI represents how eclectic the world of cult entertainment and Forbidden Planet International is – truly encompassing TV, movies, comics, video games, action figures and statues.”
