A few weeks back we mentioned that the online Jack Kirby Museum was being prepared as both a tribute to one of comics’ most legendary and influential figures and a resource for readers to learn more about Jack. Well, I’m glad to say that the site has now gone live; it is early days and the database and other features (including a recording of Jack speaking) will be growing as time goes on, but the trustees wanted to launch it on the 28th of August, which would be Jack’s 88th birthday. It’s a lovely gesture and clearly indicates the museum is built on a foundation of respect and affection for one of our greatest comics innovators.
