Journey in the SF Blogosphere

General

Kameron Hurley is currently guest-blogging for one of the FPI blog’s faves, Jeff VanderMeer, who is (or so rumours tell us) trying to build a model of Ambergris using only meringue and cream instead of writing, but so far his Evil Monkey has eaten most of his attempts (at least, he blames the Evil Monkey). Which has nothing to do with the subject of this post which was to say this article Kameron has posted is an extremely good one on the problems all authors face in attempting to secure that elusive first book deal. How many good writers do we see in the SF anthologies and wonder ‘when is that author going to get a novel published?’

Meanwhile another FPI fave, Mike Cobley, who knows all too well that even after being published its still a struggle to get your books onto the reading public’s radar, writes to let us know that he has been blogging away about his Worldcon experiences. You may also want to check out the flashy (pun intended) new look main site for Mike’s books.
