Yes, folks, contain your excitement as the brand new quarterly catalogue arrives in the Forbidden Planet International stores! We have a stonking selection of new goodies for your delectation and delight. Okay, obviously I am a little bit biased, but really we do! Some of my colleagues were over at the recent toy fairs in New York City (hello to our colleagues in the Manhattan FPI!) as well as Tokyo, London and Germany (putting the ‘international’ into ‘FPI’!) and they brought us a humungous range of new delights to show you all.
There are 132 pages of treasures in there, from Star Wars mugs to ceramic statues, lightsabres, Manga toys, T-shirts, games and graphic novels. The catalogue (volume 22 if you’re interested) is pretty-well packed and I’ll bring some of it to you over the next little while.
And for the first time we have our new SF book picks where I’ve tried to select a broad range of some of the SF&F titles coming out now and in the next couple of months, as well as our promotion on the Arthur C Clarke and BSFA awards nominees. I hope you enjoy some of them as much as I did – there really are some excellent novels coming out in our beloved genre right now in the UK, with some excellent ones to look forward to as well, and I’m sure I’ll be telling you all about them.
