DC Comics unveiled their new logo design to a somewhat mixed reception. When any company alters a design that they have had in the public eye for decades they’re always likely to attract a combination of good and bad press; some fans will be upset and wonder why such a classic, easily-recognised symbol requires changing while others will be delighted to have a fresher image.

Regardless of reader praise or brickbats (one site commented it looked like a logo for a kitchen cleaner spray) in the press and on the web it certainly generates some column inches for DC. The new logo will be prominent on the much-heralded DC Special: The Return of Donna Troy #1. It will also feature on other media, including an animated version for Batman Begins.
