SF giants and long-time collaborators Larry Niven and Doctor Jerry Pournelle have been honoured by the Heinlein Society. The panel has decided to award the pair the Robert A Heinlein Award “for outstanding published work in hard science fiction or technical writings inspiring the human exploration of space”. This third Heinlein award featured luminaries such as Joe Haldeman, Greg Bear and Elizabeth Moon among the panel of judges.
The award will be presented at the North America Science Fiction Convention in Seattle in September. The fourth part of Niven’s classic Ringworld series, Ringworld’s Children (which spurred many an academic science debate – and still does) has just been released and is in our stores and catalogue.
