No, not the Marvel character but the Phoenix Convention, or P-Con as it is known in fan circles. Padraig writes to tell us that the well-regarded P-Con III now has a website up with the first details of the next convention due in March 2006 in Dublin. The guest of honour will be Susanna Clarke, author of the absolutely excellent Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

The guest list is in its early stages and still growing, but other guests confirmed so far include top British fantasy author Juliet E McKenna, BSFA-winning Ian McDonald, MJ Simpson (a froody dude who really knows where his towel is), Eugene Byrne (author of one of my favourite novels, Things Unborn) and my good chum and British SF fan fixture, Ariel, editor of the Alien Online. More details as they come.
