The visually-astonishing Sin City movie had its official premiere in LA this week. Word of mouth from those lucky enough to see advance preview screenings is that Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez have delivered precisely what the trailers promised, a film which is not so much an adaptation of a graphic novel but the graphic novel itself translated into the screen medium. Rodriguez himself put it: “I knew I just had to prove to him that it could be done,” Rodriguez said. “What I was talkin’ about was way beyond just turning it into a movie. I wanted to take movies and turn it into his comic book, and just make a living graphic novel.”
Alas, we still have several weeks to wait in the UK, but at least we have some very cool Sin City material to titillate you with and re-releases of the original titles.
