Comics and cartoons

Coming this autumn from Denis Kitchen – and many of us remember his gone-but-not-forgotten Kitchen Sink imprint fondly – is a real treat for those who love the more unusual and innovative edge of the comics world. The Sketchbook Adventures are coming from Pete Poplaski, who has worked on almost everything in the industry, from covers for DC to working with the great Eisner himself.

I suspect those of you who love perusing our Eisner and Robert Crumb titles (Crumb is a friend and a fan) will find a lot of pleasure in this publication. And just to give you a flavour of the mood you should be in when leafing through this excellent book, here is a rather fetching picture of Pete himself, taking a break from his matinee action role to have a quick read (thanks to Denis for the pic!):
