Smile Time

General

There aren’t many folk who could take their handsome, heroic leading man, turn him into a Sesame Street-style puppet and still have an incredibly cool slice of telefantasy on their hands. But when the show is Angel and the creator is Joss Whedon, these normal rules do not apply.

The Smile Time episode was a huge hit with fans and it wasn’t long before they were clamouring for their very own puppet version of Angel. Well, it duly arrived… And sold out… Now rejoice, because it’s coming back! The battle-damaged Smile Time episode Angel puppet, a ½ size replica of the original prop, will be returning to these shores in January.

He features a faux-leather coat, boots, a mouth than can open and close and even a detachable nose, just like in the TV episode! How cool is this?!?!? It’s cooler than a penguin’s bottom on an ice floe! It’s cooler than the Fonz in a freezer! You may want to pre-order now to avoid disappointment.

And on the cool merchandise front, we have the cult geek that is Napoleon Dynamite – McFarlane Toys have produced a range of figures and they are very detailed with a great resemblance to the actual film cast. I suspect these are going to be very popular.
