George Lucas has announced that the forthcoming Revenge of the Sith will not be the end of Star Wars. Making an almost unprecedented personal appearance at a Star Wars convention in Indianapolis, the check-shirted one told fans that there were plans afoot for two new television series, set in-between events occurring in Sith and the original movie, A New Hope.

One show is likely to be an animated affair in the vein of the highly successful Clone Wars cartoon series which has been a hit with fans. The second, Lucas says, is likely to be live-action, although work is unlikely to start for at least a year on the live-action show. Lucas remarked that “Like on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, we want to write all the stories for the entire first season all at once.” More as we hear it.
