Good chum of the FPI blog Jeff VanderMeer has opened up a tall tales-telling area over on VanderWorld’s blog. Of course, writers are encouraged to ‘fabricate’ realities and make them believable, but the rest of us usually have the vulgar term ‘bulls**t’ flung our way when we do the same! But tall tales are fun (and the look on an unsuspecting victim’s face as they first believe every word then realisation slowly dawns is priceless) and come with good literary antecedents (Baron Munchausen for one), so scoot over and enjoy a few of Jeff’s examples, or provide your own example to add to the growing list.
