My good chum and solid Brit SF supporter Ariel sent me a link to this auction on Ebay where the seller is offering a very rare bit of comics history in the form of a page of original art from Hellblazer – one which features a cameo from a certain Mr Alan Moore, who our regular readers may have heard of (he occassionally dabbles in authoring periodicals I believe). It is rather ironic the seller is forced to put up his treasured page because of problems with housing benefits, since Alan has been quite active in housing matters in his stomping ground of Northampton. I wish it was inside my budget range, it would be a lovely piece to own – shame he has to sell it, but I do hope he gets a good price for it. Here’s how the finished, coloured page looked:
