The (in my opinion) excellent new Battlestar Galactica series is to give birth to a spin-off called Caprica, according to SciFi Wire. The producers pitched the idea to sponsors this week; the show would be set 50 years before the current show when the Colonies were at peace. It would take place at the time when a breakthrough in robotics and AI (and flashing red lights presumably) promised a major advance – the creation of an intelligent robot called a Cylon…
In other Galactica-related news we have the first wave of ships from the new show due this summer, including the Cylon Raider, the Viper and the Galactica itself. I may need to make some more space on my desk…
