Chariots of the Gods on SciFi

The Hollywood Reporter carries news that the SciFi Channel is to adapt Erich Von Daniken’s book (if that isn’t too grandiose a title for it) Chariots of the God, into one of their six hour mini-series. Von Daniken was very famous indays gone past for his wild books explaining how we were all descended from aliens, how the Nazca desert pictures were UFO landing strips and claiming to have found lost secret libraries. Quite what shape the mini-series will take I have no idea since the book was put forward as ‘factual’, not a novel. In many ways it laid the foundations for later conspiracy and secret knowledge books and novels, right up to the Da Vinci Code which may give those unfamiliar with it an idea of what to expect.
