Neil Gaiman has put up a movie poster for the stop-motion animation film version of his Coraline novel, which looks suitably creepy (the Other Mother is wonderfully disturbing).

    OMG!!!!!!!!!

They’re ACTUALLY making a movie about this FANTASTIC story! I saw a preview of it at the movies when I went to see the Hannah Montana 3D movie. And get this, the Coraline movie is going to be in 3D!!

Tim Burton (the creator of The Nightmare Before Christmas) is gonna help the author, Neil Gaiman, create this fantastic movie. Since these two guys LOVE to make horror stories, Coraline is going to be a HUGE HIT!

I know I probably shouldn’t give this away, but I noticed in the preview that the Other Mother’s hands aren’t white with long, red finger nails, but silver and almost robotic-looking. Spooky, isn’t it?!

Well, I can’t wait to see this amazing movie! Good luck Neil Gaiman and Tim Burton!

It comes out in theaters Feb 6th of ‘09. I’ve never heard of the book until I saw an ad for it on an art site I belong to. It looks sooooo cool! I wanna read the book before I watch the movie – or just watch the movie and THEN the book xD

Uh, it said that the director of the nightmare before christmas would be helping, and since Tim was the mainly the visionary for NMB4C, I’m pretty sure it’s henry selick doing the directing.

Um, guys, check your facts. Tim Burton has nothing to do with the production of this movie. This is a collaboration between Henry Selick- who directed “Nightmare” while Burton was off directing “Batman”- and author Neil Gaiman. So far, Kaitlyn is the only one who recognizes that Selick, NOT BURTON, is directing this film.
That said, I’ve been all over Rotten Tomatoes and the reviewers LOVE Coraline! I can’t wait to see it! The clips are so tantalizing and I’m practically bouncing out of the house to get to the theater. People will be blown away. I know I am.
