Adele at the famous Edinburgh Filmhouse, home to the even more famous Dead By Dawn horror film festival writes to let us know about this spring’s gorefest:
“Passes for Dead by Dawn go on sale on February 1st at noon and Filmhouse box office can be contacted directly on 0131 228 2688. A separate email has been sent to all those who reserved their Passes so for anyone who didn’t do that yet and would like to attend this, our 13th Anniversary show (April 20 – 23), then all you have to do is call the box office and buy your Pass, but given how fast we sold out the last couple years, I would recommend that you don’t leave it too late! Full Weekend Passes cost £50.
The Dead by Dawn 2006 programme will be announced over the coming months but as you may have seen from the Terra label, we have a premiere screening of the new Shinya Tsukamoto movie HAZE, which I guarantee is gonna upset anyone who’s in the least squeamish about their teeth
Also, the Glasgow Film Festival decided they wanted a Horror programme at their event in February and then went and asked Frightfest to get involved who then kindly asked us to get involved. Five films, one day in deepest, darkest Glasgow at the lovely GFT – list of films available from the Frightfest newsletter here.”
As ever you can check out the DbD website for further updates and sign up for their email updates, which continue throughout the year with new horror movie news, not just for the festival, so it’s a good source of horror movie information and well worth signing up for. DbD tends to sell out every year, even before the programme is announced, which will give you an idea of the sort of loyal following it has built up; it really is one of the (if not the) best horror film festivals in the UK. Perhaps being run by someone who is a real fan has something to do with it.
