Cheryl, in-between polishing her ruby red slippers in Emerald City, reports that webzine Borderblur is holding their first ever contest. It is to celebrate the new Doctor Who making it onto American screens – they cheerfully admit they don’t know much about Who (which has several nominations in the Hugos this year – hurrah!) and so are holding this essay writing contest with the title “Why we should love Doctor Who.” Details over on Borderblur’s site. On a related topic I just saw the first batch of new Who action figures arriving in-store this week and they look terrific. David Tennant’s action figure has a pretty good likeness to the actor, although I still think with his slim frame and that suit and basketball shoes he looks like he should be singing with Jarvis Cocker. I still want the figures for my desk of course! It is bang up to date with the new range even having a Sycorax figure, the bad guys from the Christmas special.
