Comics Continuum reports that troubled actor Robert Downey Jr has been cast to play Tony Stark and his metal-clad heroic alter-ego Iron Man in the forthcoming movie adaptation. It may well be perfect casting since Downey has had more than his fair share of troubles with the bottle, just as Tony Stark has (just check out the recently published Demon in a Bottle collection for example), although he has been on something of a roll again in recent years with films like A Scanner Darkly and the excellent Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, although this marks his first major action movie lead role. The film is scheduled for the spring of 2008
