Comics and cartoons, General

The new series by the great Neil Gaiman based around the legendary Jack Kirby’s Eternals is almost here (we had some cool Eternals free bookmarks in the stores, but you had to be quick!), with the first issue due towards the end of June. Marvel has been showing off some more of the art on various comics news sites and it looks terrific – modern but with more than a hint of a nod to Kirby’s – dare I say eternal – style, with the artwork from Rick Berry, coloured by Matt Hollingsworth and featuring a cover on the first issue from John Romita Jr.

“You are thousands of years old. You have amazing powers. You have watched civilizations rise and fall– so why does no one remember any of this? Bestselling Author Neil Gaiman (Marvel: 1602, Anansi Boys, Sandman) is joined by superstar artist John Romita Jr. (Amazing Spider-Man, Wolverine) to bring you the eagerly-awaited event of 2006: ETERNALS!! Ike Harris has dreams of adventures, love affairs and betrayals, but no one involved remembers or believes him. And who is trying to kill him to keep him from talking about it?
