ICV2 picks up on a story from Now Playing Magazine who reported that the godfather of cyberpunk, William Gibson, has one of his books, Idoru, set to be adapted into an anime film by Alex Steyermark. With the focus on a heavily multimedia Tokyo and J-pop idols it seems like a perfect book to anime adaptation and, as ICV2 note, anime may be the perfect medium for some of Bill’s work (a lot of which features ideas which have moved from SF to reality in the short years since he wrote them).
