Slave Labor Graphics has announced that the hit Gothic comic Gloom Cookie will end with issue #28 this autumn. Do not despair though – the series will continue in trade paperback form. SLG found that the bulk of the readership are not regular comics issue buyers and prefer to wait for the collected trade paperback graphic novels, so they are making this move, with Serena Valentino (who is the series’ co-creator along with the excellent Ted Naifeh) still planning to write the new collections:
“Issue 28 is the perfect place to end,” said Valentino. “It ends this story arc but hints at the characters’ futures.”
