Great British Comics website

Paul Gravett tells me that the site for Great British Comics will become active from this Sunday (22nd) in the run up to the publication of the quite excellent-looking book he and Peter Stanbury have penned (I just love that Korky the Cat image – I want a T-shirt with that on the front!). The official launch of the book is on Saturday 28th of October at the ICA in London, with an audio-visual presentation thrown in – ticket holders can join them at the launch party afterwards; booking details can be found on the ICA’s site.

Talking of site’s Paul’s own official site is one year old and updated weekly with features and interviews as well as generally supporting the comics medium here in Blighty (including the Comica events throughout the month), so go pay a visit. Paul will also be in Glasgow in November for a discussion at the Goethe Institut entitled “Lost in Translation: do Comics Need Language?” on Friday November 3rd from 5 to 7.30pm; also included are the excellent Glasgow-based Metaphrog (the folks behind the wonderful Louis books) and German comics artist Arne Bellstorf – full details on the Goethe Insitut’s page.
