This winter’s New York Comic Con has announced the creator the incredibly popular Bone (the new edition of the one-volume Bone has sold in incredible numbers round the world, I’m pleased to say), Jeff Smith as their second confirmed Guest of Honour. Jeff joins the legendary Stan Lee on the GoH roll’ other guest confirmed so far inclue Frank Cho (oh, those funny but so sexy Liberty Meadows books!), the most excellent Bill Sienkiewicz and also Alison Bechdel, creator of Fun Home, which IVC2 reports is one of the best-selling graphic novels in the US for the latter part of the year (so another good reason for you to check it out). The NYC Comic Con runs from February 23rd to 25th.

Jonathan Cape kindly sent me a review copy of this: it’s an interesting approach to autobiography although I did find it a little stilted and perhaps overly-obssessive; it’s a book that will definitely have an appeal to certain groups, particularly those dealing with difficult family relationships, although no solutions are offered.
