[...] Back in the summer Leah Moore and John Reppion chatted with me about their work, most notably Albion, which finally came out in collected graphic novel form just before Christmas (and ended up being a present to myself), which teamed them with Leah’s dad, a certain Mister Alan Moore and artist Shane Oakley (who Lew Stringer praises over on his new blog) for a brilliant modern tale of classic British comics characters; seriously good stuff, mixing classic characters like Robot Archie and Captain Hurricane with modern sensibilities and political events. I thought it was accessible regardless of your familiarity - or lack thereof – with these older, wonderfully eccentric Brit characters. Now with the impressive Albion tucked under their collective belts it is onwards for the Moore-Reppion team who have a slate of new comics work coming up through 2007, so join us as we discuss literary figures, mythic weapons, zombies and reality shows: [...]

[...] The big news for a lot of us who have been waiting patiently though is the arrival at last of the collected Albion by Alan and Leah Moore, John Reppion, Shane Oakley and George Freeman. A clever revisiting of some of the quirky and eccentric classic British heroes of yesteryear, I’ve been waiting for this delayed title for ages (and I know a lot of you have as well), so I think this is going to be a present for myself (hey, I’m worth it). John and Leah talked here on the blog about the book back during British Comics Month and you can still read it here – a perfect accompaniment to go with the book. At last it is mine. Of course, now I need to wait for Dave Gibbons’ Thunderbolt Jaxon… [...]

[...] Apart from the aforementioned Long Halloween (my wallet is spasming at the thought of the strain I will be putting on it) I was quite taken with the trade paperback of the first of my favourite comics curmudgeon, the one and only Harvey Pekar and the new American Splendor he has done with DC’s Vertigo imprint (yes, I’ll take one of those, thank you very much) and I’m thinking Dave Gibbons’ Thunderbolt Jaxon would make a fine addition to the Albion trade paperback (assuming it ever gets released - meantime you could entertain yourself with this interview with Leah Moore and John Reppion posted here during British Comics Month on the blog).
