Wow, this new entry on our webstore is just bloody amazing. It is also damned expensive! Even with the generous FPI discount this will be beyond the wallets of many of us, but some lucky fan is sure to give a good home to this amazing Master Replica Signature Edition of the original series USS Enterprise – NCC 1701 (“no bloody A, B, C or D” as Scotty put it in his TNG appearance). Limited to only 500 pieces this is a serious collector’s item, coming with a special plaque signed by both her captain and first officer, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy (Nimoy must be the faster book signer I have ever seen in my life – even Terry Pratchett can’t match his autographing speed, must be a special Vulcan technique). There is a slightly different edition of 1250 pieces which doesn’t feature the signed plaque also available. Based on the surviving studio model, the detail is quite amazing.
I’m so jealous of whoever ends up with this in their home. I think the 40th anniversary of the classic phaser may be more in my budget range! And so much fun for chasing the cats round the house with.
