[...] CBR has an interview with Mike Carey ahead of the US publication of the first of his prose novels about his freelance exorcist Felix Castor, The Devil You Know. Regular readers of our blog will know that Orbit has already published The Devil You Know and the second in the series, Vicious Circle, in the UK and that I raved about them - American readers, you are in for a real treat with them. Mike also discusses just a little about the third novel, Dead Man’s Boots, which is due from Orbit in the UK this autumn and confirms something which was raised here when I talked to him last year (Entre Comics also posted a Spanish translation of that interview here), that the books are building towards something: “I don’t have an ending in mind for the series but I do have a big climax in mind which would come at the end of the sixth book. So we’re kind of building to a huge revelation and a huge climax which could be an end point but wouldn’t have to be. We could continue the story after that. The big revelation is why the dead are returning - why Castor’s world is the way it is.” I must confess that the feeling that the world around Castor was being built up around him as each tale progressed really added to the books for me and I can’t wait to read the third book. I still wonder just how he manages to write such good novels while juggling some top-notch comics projects. Print this Story Send to a Friend [...]

[...] You may recall me posting an interview with Mike Carey in Septemeber, discussing his comics and his new Felix Castor novels from Orbit. Well Entre Comics.com has translated what looks to be the whole thing into Spanish and posted it on their blog. May have been a little more polite to ask permission first of course, but still a good effort and I hope Spanish-language readers enjoy it. [...]
