Remember a good while ago we were talking about the cartoon version of Mike Mignola’s Amazing Screw-On Head being made? Well, those nice folks at SciFi have put the pilot episode online for everyone to view ahead of the TV debut at the end of this month in the US. With voice talent including Paul Giamatti (American Spendor, Sideways) and Frasier‘s David Hyde Pierce and with a real commitment by the animators to match the distinctive style of Mike Mignola’s artwork it looks and sounds terrific (I especially loved the Abraham Lincoln ‘video’ screen).
As well as showing the pilot on their site SciFi are asking viewers what they think – since popularity is the key to having a whole series greenlit, go on and check it out and don’t forget to let them know if you liked it so hopefully we can get more! Comics Continuum also has an interview with Jason Netter from the production company Kickstart Entertainment (who are also behind the Painkiller Jane series mentioned here last week) where he discusses the show.
