Comics and cartoons, News

Thanks to my friend Pádraig Ó Méalóid, comics fiend, reviewer, con organiser and editor of Irish SF News (as well as contributing to this blog too) for telling me about a very exclusive sale on Leah Moore and John Reppion’s site. A case of the old AARGH! anthology from 1988 has turned up in a warehouse and are being offered only on Leah and John’s site. The collection from Mad Love, which was a repsonse to the much-reviled Clause 28 brought in by the Thatcher government, contains The Mirror of Love by Alan Moore, Steve R Bissette and Rick Veitch among other works. You can pick up one of these rare copies for £7 or £15 for an oh-so collectable signed edition (by Alan Moore, Phyllis Moore and Deborah Delano, original Mad Love founders). Numbers are restricted and no more than two copies are allowed per customer to stop speculators hoovering them up (well done, I hate when people do that – comics and books are not just commodities) and, appropriately since the original publication was to protest Clause 28, the proceeds from this sale will got the Stonewall. Very limited numbers, so if you want one, you will need to be quick.
