Film, TV and radio, General

Lord of the Rings (and King Kong, but let’s not dwell on that, shall we?) director Peter Jackson has signed a deal with Microsoft to develop a project for the X-Box 360. It will be a series based around the HALO franchise (Peter is also producing – but not directing – a movie based around HALO too) for the console and for the online B-Box Live service. The Kiwi director reportedly said he was “getting a little bored with films” and added that these days he often finds himself more excited about the release of new games rather than movies because of the technology allowing interaction with the user. Hmmm, while not doubting his word I’m also left wondering if there is an unspoken reason here, such as when you have made one of the biggest movies of all time, a creative, critical and popular success will any other movie project ever be as exciting for you? Just wondering – it would be perfectly natural to feel that way after all.
