Eric Idle’s stage adaptation of Monty Python’s Holy Grail, the musical Spamalot is coming to London’s West End after an award-winning run on Broadway. Idle quipped he chose to open the stage version in America because the critics were easier to bribe. Genre fav Tim Curry will reprsie his role as King Arthur with Simon Russell Beale who plays the role on Broadway taking over next year. Spamalot, an unusual version of an already unusual take on Arthurian romance and fantasy, should be on the London stage by October. Does anyone else feel like joining me for a quick chorus of “We’re knights of the round table…”? Oh, just me then – exits stage left to the sound of coconuts clapping…
