Books, General, News

A few weeks ago we carried the sad report of the far too early death of the very gifted and challenging SF author Octavia Butler. Now The Carl Brandon Society has news of The Octavia E. Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund. The aim is to fully fund a writer to attend the Clarion writer’s workshops where Octavia both received help herself and then later volunteered to teach at. It sounds like a lovely way to commemorate a fine writer; the society page has details of how donations can be made to the fund.
