Famed illustrator Alex Ross will be providing a cover for one of the next wave of the new range of Indian-themed comics from Virgin. His first cover is for Ramayan Reborn #1 due in the autumn, which is a retelling of the ancient Sanskrit myth of Ramayana, the oldest written myth in the sub-continent’s venerable culture. Readers may be familiar with the myth via Ashok Banker, who has re-interpreted it for a modern audience in an intriguing fantasy series for Orbit and a shortened version of the name was used for one of Arthur C Clarke’s most famous works, Rendevous With Rama.
