DC Direct has created more than a few Wonder Woman collectables over the years – our favourite Amazonian has, after all, been around almost as long as Batman and Superman. But this week they announced that for the first time they were creating a statue based around the actress Lynda Carter’s (gorgeous) image. The statue, due next spring, will be 13.5 inches high with the costume patterned after the one Lynda wore in the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series (come on, join in a chorus of “she’s a wonder, Wonder Woman” and do the ‘twirl’, you know you want to!!!).
Lynda herself has approved the likeness; I think the facial features are very close to Lynda’s – this is going to be pretty popular with fans, especially as many of us still really think of Lynda as Wonder Woman (well, she is, isn’t she? Even after Joss Whedon does his WW film Lynda will still be Wonder Woman to most of us the way Chris Reeve is still Superman, despite Brandon Routh’s excellent new version).
