Harry over on Ain’t It Cool News has a scoop straight from Avi Arad on Spider-Man 3 with the bombshell news that Gwen Stacy will feature in Spidey’s third big screen outing with Sam Raimi. Bryce Howard (daughter of former Happy Days star and Simpsons celeb cameo player Ron Howard) will play the role of Peter Parker’s great love, Gwen… I forsee romance and tragedy…
On other Marvel movie related news, Avi talked to the Bearded One about a possible second Incredible Hulk movie, noting that Avi is a huge Hulk fan and keen to push another film. There are no details available yet, according to Harry, but any movie will be produced by Marvel with Univerala, away from their old relationship with Paramount.
Away from Marvel, Slave Labor Graphic’s Ghouly Boys comic by Christopher becomes the latest comic property to be optioned for a possible movie – although, of course, being optioned doesn’t always equate to an actual film being made (Richard Morgan’s Altered Carbon being a case in point), but it does help raise the profile of the medium and the writers and artists working in it.
