A little while ago we mentioned that the Israeli comics collective Dimona had organised their own unique response to the threat of Holocaust cartoons in Tehran’s newspapers in response to the Danish cartoons controversy; rather than get into such a tit-for-tat Dimona cheekily announced that they would hold their own anti-Semitic cartoon competition but for Jewish cartoonists! Entries have now closed and the judging begins on some 150 entries from around the world – joining the judging panel is one Art Spiegelman. The prize money consists entirely of donations.
