Stephen King, pretty much the king of horror fiction, talks to Mark Lawson in a video interview on the BBC’s website, discussing his new book and how the two occassions where he came close to death have effected him and his writing. Stephen’s fantasy tale, The Dark Tower, is finally coming in comics form after a false start, with the first issue Gunslinger Born due this February from Marvel. Mark Lawson has been interviewing other genre writers as part of the BBC’s current Science Fiction Britannia season, including Iain M Banks and Terry Pratchett (and well done the Beeb for paying such attention to the written SF as well as the film, TV and radio – even comics featured this week when Judge Dredd cropped up in an episode discussing future utopias and dystopias).
