Walking in the Air

Irn Bru (Scotland’s ‘other national drink’ and the finest hangover remedy known to humanity) produces some wonderfully clever adverts, almost up there with the Guinness campaigns, but often more subversive – witness the latest one released for the festive season which appears to pay homage to the British animated classic The Snowman. The ‘”We’re Walking in the Air” sequence begins but rapidly becomes a pastiche rather than a homage as the kid guzzles his Irn Bru and refuses to share it with the Snowman as they fly over Scottish landmarks. The animation and music are a pretty good match for the original and damned funny (rather than sugary sweet) – of course it’s up on YouTube already.
