Wedding bells are sounding in the Marvel universe for the Black Panther and the X-Men’s Storm. According to a recent Marvel press conference. the build up to this event begins in the new six-issue Storm mini series and will continue in Black Panther from issue #14, culminating in nuptials in July with Black Panther #18 (now, now, no tears!).
Writer Reginald Hudlin and David Gabriel of Marvel hope to later bring this out as a hardcover collection which will appeal to the African American readership in bookstores, which outnumbers African-American owned comic stores, although Hudlin noted fans on his own site had started to compile a list of just such comic stores recently. It certainly doesn’t hurt to encompass a wider readership than is usual for a mainstream, superhero comic.
