The universe of World of Warcraft, one of the most successful online gaming schemes or MMORPGs (massively multi-player online role playing game) around with an enormous fan-base who spend many hours each week immersed in this alternative world. Blizzard Entertainment has agreed with Legendary Pictures, associated with Warner Bros, to develop the gaming universe as a big-budget movie. And since Legendary are involved with Batman Begins and Superman Returns then it means big-budget.
I remember first playing the original Warcraft games on Macs back in the 90s; it has evolved spectacularly since then into an immersive online experience played by millions (lived by millions may be a more accurate description) and even made the leap into Manga with Tokyopop publishing the popular first and second volumes already and even the more traditional, non-computer based RPG model of gaming as well. Rumours that FPI’s dungeon-dwelling RPG Fiend Paul was tipped for a lead role have been so far denied.
