Books, Conventions and events

A number of SF&F and comics related writers and artists will be taking part in the Manchester Literature Festival (October 4th to 14th), including Al Davison (creator of the intriguing Spiral Cage) who will be holding a graphic novel workshop for 12 – 16 year olds on Sunday October 7th at the Whitworth Gallery from 12.30 to 2.30pm. Paul Gravett will be in conversation with Rutu Modan, Simone Lia and Bryan Talbot at 3pm on the same date, also at the Whitworth. Novelist, comics writer and Doctor Who screenwriter Paul Cornell will be joining fellow Who writer Robert Shearman on Sunday 14th. Check the Festival site for more details or toddle on over to Ariel on the UKSF Book News (as I did) where he’s done the hard work already and picked out the SF&F and comics genre events.
