I’m delighted to say that Amber Benson – probably best known (and beloved for) her portrayal of Tara, friend, witch and chief romantic squeeze for Willow in Joss Whedon’s brilliant Buffy the Vampire Slayer series – will be making some personal appearances in several of the Forbidden Planet International stores later this month as she promotes her latest film, Lovers, Liars & Lunatics, which the multi-talented Amber wrote, produced and directed as well as appearing in (she also raised some of the finance to make the movie by selling special edition Tara figures – there’s a great write up on this and the film, plus links to clips and more here). The film will be available to buy (priced £20) and Amber will be signing copies of the DVD at the event.
Amber will be appearing from 4.30 to 6pm in our following stores:
Monday 17th of September at Nostalgia & Comics, 14-16 Smallbrook, Queensway, Birmingham
Tuesday 18th of September at Forbidden Planet International, 65 Oldham Street, Piccadilly, Manchester
Wednesday 19th of September at Forbidden Planet International, 30 Eastgate, the Headrow, Leeds
Thursday 20th of September at Worlds Apart, 58-60 Lime Street, Liverpool
Friday 21st of September at Forbidden Planet International, 5 Duke Street, Cardiff

Charlotte, sorry, that was an error and shouldn’t have been on there, there WON’T be a charge for autographs, I’m pleased to say.
Sadly I don’t think Belfast is on the cards this time round (I’m sad she won’t be at the Edinburgh store either, I’d love to meet her – staff who met her before said she is the loveliest guest to have)

There’s no obligation to buy the DVD, although obviously its release is one of the things Amber is promoting while she is here. As for signing other material, at such events it tends to be down to the guest – some will, some may prefer to stick to certain items, you would have to ask at the event on that score really.

That’s something you’d have to work out on the day really, but I’m sure she understands not everyone has the luxury of buying DVDs whenever they want.
