The selection list for this year Annency International Animated Film Festival and Market, reputedly the largest such gathering for professional animation from television, film and video, is now up on the official site. A quick glance at the short film section shows an impressive range of people taking part from all around the globe, including Suzie Templeton from here in Britain for Peter and the Wolf, Kaspar Jancis from Estonia for Maraton, Koji Yamamura of Japan for Kafka Inaka Isha and Santosh Kale of India with Killing the Fittest among the many listed in this one category alone.

Just a shame the website listing them doesn’t feature sample clips or at least direct links to the animator’s sites (come on film awards organisers, for short animations surely you can have at least clips of the work on the website?). On which note, I had a quick look and found a short trailer for the award-winning Suzie Templeton’s Peter and the Wolf here on the Breakthru Films site, with more information on the film here. Mediawave has information on Kaspar Jancis here and Koji Yamamura has a site here. The festival runs from Monday 11th June to Saturday 16th. (thanks to Marko at Neorama for the tip)
