Anthony Lappé and Art by Dan Goldman can be seen on a good, long video piece talking about the quite brilliant Shooting War graphic novel, which our resident Reviewer In Chief Richard recently picked as his top read for the year (it will surprise no regular reader that is is also my top choice for 2007 as well, but more on that when I list my own highlights for the Best of the Year). The full video runs for some 50-odd minutes, so there’s plenty there to get your teeth into, which is good because this is the sort of work that deserves a decent platform for discussion, not only on its artistic and storytelling merits as a graphic novel but also on the themes and subjects it raises which are extremely pertinent to our troubled times (perfect book group reading material too, in my opinion). Thanks to William at FORA.TV (which hosts a number of videos of discussion and debate on all manner of political, cultural and technological matter) for the link.
(Anthony attempts to swat a fly that is annoying Dan during a talk in San Francisco)
