Mark on Boing Boing has a link to the site Stupid Comics, which celebrates the cheesy delights of old British comics for girls like Bunty, Judy and Mandy, focussing on the Annuals that would appear in many a young reader’s Christmas stocking and some of the more bizarre tales they contained, such as “My Brother’s a Chimp”, “Two on the Saucy Sue” (which sounds like the name of one of those Eros comics Fantagraphics do) and the “Four Marys”, which were contemporary with the early 2000AD and Starlord comics. I’m hoping that DC’s recently announced new line of comics for girls will be of a slightly higher level…
