New arrivals

It will surprise no-one to learn that some of the Civil War graphic novels have suffered from delays, just as the comics did, but at last the collection simply entitled “Civil War” by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven has finally arrived – a day later than usual this week because of the Easter weekend, but here it is at last. The Heroes For Hire Civil War trade has also arrived in this week’s new arrivals.

Also overdue – I know a lot of you have been waiting with various degrees of patience for it – the first All Star Superman hardcover by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely (with colours by the Glasgow studios Jamie Grant) comes in, arriving at rather less than the rate of a speeding bullet, but by all accounts well worth the wait (Richard reviewed it recently in his Propaganda post).

For horror fans Hack/Slash: Death by Sequel is in with this week’s New Comics Day goodies (dontcha love a woman with an axe?), the Steve Niles-scripted 28 Days Later is out to whet your appetite for the upcoming sequel to the Danny Boyle British zombie movie (which avoided the word ‘zombie’ in favour of ‘the infected’), while Steve’s sometime collaborator Ben Templesmith’s new art collection Conluvio is also on the shelves this week.
